Overview:
Lakeshore Sport & Fitness- Illinois Center is a full-service health club located at 211 N. Stetson Avenue in Chicago. The facility is in the heart of the east Loop area and adjacent to the Lakeshore East community. The seven-story structure is highlighted by the indoor climbing wall that rises through the atrium. Lakeshore - Illinois Center Climbing Wall The 110-foot structure is a top rope climbing wall with six ropes.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintain and promote a safe and clean climbing wall area.
Provide excellent customer service to climbers of all skill levels and promote positive and encouraging climbing experience.
Teach and assist with proper fit of equipment, how to tie in, how to belay with a GriGri/Carabiner combination, teach safety check, dialogue, and communicate with climbers when needed.
Enforce all climbing wall rules.
Pay Scale
$17.50 per hour - minimum of three hours per week. Climbing wall shifts are Tuesday and Thursday, 5 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, 11 am to 3 pm.
Qualifications:
Able to work with adults and children.
Must be personable and outgoing.
Previous climbing experience and skills is mandatory.
Previous or current employment at a certified climbing gym is recommended.
Must have flexibility to work weekday afternoon and evenings, plus Sunday afternoons.
