Wedding and Event Assistant

Job Description


  • Assist the main planner onsite as needed
  • Receive & review deliveries and assist with greeting all vendors
  • Assist with communication with vendors regarding timelines, planner requests, or instructions
  • Assist with setting up personal items (i.e. guest signing items, unity candles, programs, favors, cake knife, toasting flutes, place cards, etc.)
  • Assist with directing the Ceremony Processional and Wedding Party Organization
  • Help with positioning the bride, groom, and wedding party for all significant events
  • Greeting and directing wedding guests
  • Assist with the general coordination of the timeline for all events during the ceremony and reception
  • Assist band or DJ in cueing important events (i.e., grand entrance, parents’ dances, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.)
  • Help manage couples’ exit and custom elements (sparklers, glow sticks, bubbles, etc.)
  • Assist with proper collection and placement of wedding day items when the reception ends
  • Assist with the event breakdown and clean-up of the venue based on venue requirements


Qualifications


  • Previous experience in event management or hospitality is preferred, but not required
  • Must have flexible weekend ability
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • High energy and stamina
  • Excellent critical thinking abilities
  • Performing well under pressure
  • Ability to efficiently multitask
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Capable of working on your feet for 10+ hour shifts
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to event locations punctually
  • Comfortable with travel to and within the Central FL area, including Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, etc.
  • Must be responsive and punctual
  • May work long hours/late night depending on event schedule
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a smartphone


All black Professional Business attire is required at all working events unless otherwise stated. Comfortable closed-toe shoes are highly recommended due to long periods of standing and walking.
