Job description

Title: WebSphere & Container Services Administrator

Location: Columbus, OH (Remote)

Duration: Long-Term Contract

Interview Mode: Microsoft Teams

This position is primarily remote and includes participation in an on-call rotation supporting mission-critical applications and services.Responsibilities
  • Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IBM WebSphere Application Server environments.
  • Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and secure WebSphere Application Servers on Linux and AIX platforms.
  • Manage containerized workloads running on Kubernetes platforms including AWS EKS and Azure AKS.
  • Deploy, monitor, and support applications in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.
  • Configure and maintain enterprise web servers including IBM HTTP Server (IHS), Apache, and IIS.
  • Implement and maintain SSL/TLS certificates, Single Sign-On (SSO), IAM, and application security controls.
  • Support enterprise integration platforms including MuleSoft and Salesforce integrations.
  • Monitor system health and application performance using tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues involving networking, databases, APIs, middleware, certificates, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop automation scripts and CI/CD processes using Ansible, Jenkins, Git, Maven, Bitbucket, and related tools.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to support deployments, performance tuning, and issue resolution.
  • Provide technical leadership and consulting to IT management and development teams.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, implementation planning, and technology evaluations.
  • Support disaster recovery, high availability, load balancing, and infrastructure resiliency initiatives.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and respond to critical infrastructure incidents.
Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of overall IT infrastructure, middleware, or systems administration experience.
  • 5+ years of experience administering IBM WebSphere Application Server.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Kubernetes environments including AWS EKS and/or Azure AKS.
  • 5+ years of experience administering enterprise integration platforms such as MuleSoft or Salesforce.
  • 5+ years of experience managing application security technologies, SSL certificates, authentication, and access management.
  • 5+ years of experience providing senior-level technical consulting to IT leadership and technical teams.
  • 5+ years of experience working within government or public sector environments.
  • 3+ years of experience advising organizations on emerging technologies and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Experience with Linux, Unix, and Windows administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform administration.
  • Experience with CI/CD automation and Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Experience with API management, REST/SOAP services, JSON/XML transformations, and microservices architectures.
  • Experience with IAM, Privileged Access Management (PAM), and Zero Trust security principles.
  • Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and enterprise-scale production environments.
  • Experience supporting large government agencies or public-sector organizations.
