Job description

Marketing Manager (Part-Time) - Black Knight Racquet Sports (Squash, Pickleball, Badminton)
Canadawide Sports | Brantford / Waterloo, Ontario

Canadawide Sports is seeking a motivated, self-starting Marketing Manager to support Black Knight, one of our key brands and a well-known Canadian racquet sports company specializing in pickleball paddles, squash racquets, badminton racquets, and accessories. Our main warehouse and office are located in Brantford, Ontario, with a satellite office at the Club at Northfield in Waterloo.

The Opportunity

This is a part-time role starting at approximately 15-20 hours per week, with the potential to increase hours or transition to a full-time position based on performance and company need.

Start date: Immediate.

Compensation will be negotiated based on experience.

You will report primarily to the Brand Lead for Black Knight and indirectly to the CEO of Canadawide Sports. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role ideal for someone who can execute across digital marketing and product launches, and work effectively in a small team.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Marketing & E-Commerce

  • Partner on D2C email marketing strategy and campaigns via Klaviyo on playbk.com, including segmentation, promotional newsletters, and performance tracking to drive revenue and customer retention.
  • Manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google Ads, focusing on product launches, seasonal promotions, retargeting, and ROAS targets.
  • Oversee website content updates on Shopify (product pages, promotions, blog posts, and SEO) to improve organic traffic and conversions.
  • Handle Amazon seller account management: listing optimization, content, promotions, and performance reporting.

Product Development & Launch Support

  • Collaborate with Brand Lead on product development for new pickleball paddles and squash racquets, providing marketing input on features, naming, positioning, packaging, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Plan and execute key asset creation (photography, videography, and content) for new badminton racquets and other lines.
  • Help position a new line of racquets and pickleball paddles for the 2027 season, incorporating current design trends and colourways.

Promotions, Activations & Events

  • Recommend promotions and offers that align with brand positioning and inventory levels.
  • Work with the Brand Lead to plan and execute activations and events (club demos, tournaments, pop-ups, sponsorships, and ambassador appearances) to build awareness, drive community engagement, and generate user-generated content.

What We're Looking For

  • 1-3 years of relevant marketing experience.
  • Proven experience in both D2C and B2B environments.
  • Racquet Sports experience and passion (highly preferred)
  • Strong hands-on expertise with:
    • Klaviyo (email marketing)
    • Social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)
    • Shopify (website management / re-design experience preferred)
    • Meta Ads and Google Ads
  • Strong graphic design skills and the ability to identify and apply key trends and colourways to product and marketing creative (preferred).
  • Self-starter who can work independently and deliver results.

Location & Schedule

  • Hybrid arrangement: Ideally be in in Brantford/Waterloo at least 1 day per week, and the other day(s) to be flexible: working from home.
  • Flexible scheduling up to 20 hours per week commitment (to start).

Why Join Black Knight / Canadawide Sports

  • Work with a well-known Canadian brand in a fast-paced, work-hard, play-hard culture.
  • Real ownership and the opportunity to directly influence digital growth, product direction, and community engagement as the brand expands.
  • Opportunity to grow within a larger company and gain cross-functional experience.
  • Fair pay and employee benefits, as well as additional perks such as purchasing any sporting equipment in our warehouse at cost.
