What does a website intern do?

A Website Intern typically assists with the design, development, and maintenance of websites. Their tasks may include updating content, fixing bugs, testing website functionality, and helping with user experience improvements. They often work under the guidance of web developers or designers and may use tools such as HTML, CSS, and content management systems like WordPress. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in web development and digital marketing, making it a great starting point for a tech career.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a website intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Website Intern, you generally need foundational knowledge in HTML, CSS, and basic web design principles, often supported by coursework or self-taught experience. Familiarity with content management systems (such as WordPress), graphic editing tools, and version control systems like Git is commonly expected. Initiative, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help interns effectively support web projects and collaborate with team members. These competencies ensure an intern can contribute meaningfully to website updates, troubleshoot issues, and learn quickly in a dynamic digital environment.
