Job description

Position Overview 

This is a full-time on-site position in our North Scottsdale office.  

We’re looking for an experienced Website Developer who is ready to take ownership of the web development department If you’re passionate about WordPress, PHP development, and VPS server management, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your ideas can shape the future, we want to talk to you. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Client Collaboration: Lead client facing development discussions including requirements, defining project scope, and demos  
  • Website Development: Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Custom Development: Develop custom PHP functionalities and API integrations tailored to client needs
  • VPS Server Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain VPS hosting environments for optimal site performance and security
  • Project Management: Coordinate and manage web project timelines including mockup approvals, acquiring content, reviews, and go live dates 
  • SEO & Performance Optimization: Implement best practices for website speed, SEO, and user experience
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure websites are protected from vulnerabilities and comply with web standards
  • Department Leadership: Establish internal processes, frameworks, and best practices to scale the web development team over time
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support, debugging, and performance enhancements for client websites
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, design, and paid media teams to ensure seamless integration of web assets

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience (5+ preferred) in PHP and WordPress website development. 
  • Proven experience with custom WordPress development, including custom themes and plugin development
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and MySQL
  • Experience managing VPS servers (GoDaddy, AWS, or similar)
  • Knowledge of website security best practices, including SSL, firewalls, and malware prevention
  • Familiarity with SEO principles, Core Web Vitals, and performance optimization
  • Experience with API integrations and custom post types in WordPress
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve WordPress, PHP, and hosting-related issues quickly
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
