What is a web3 product manager?

A Web3 Product Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the development, launch, and improvement of products that use blockchain or decentralized technologies. They work at the intersection of product management and emerging Web3 ecosystems, such as DeFi, NFTs, and DAOs. Their role involves understanding user needs, defining product strategy, coordinating with engineers and designers, and ensuring that products align with the decentralized ethos of Web3. Web3 Product Managers also stay updated on rapidly evolving trends and regulations in the blockchain space to guide their teams and products effectively.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a web3 product manager?

To thrive as a Web3 Product Manager, you need a solid understanding of blockchain technology, product lifecycle management, and user experience design, often backed by experience in software or crypto product roles. Familiarity with smart contract platforms like Ethereum, agile project management tools, and sometimes certifications in blockchain or product management are highly valuable.
