How much do web3 js jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 19, 2026, the average hourly pay for web3 js in the United States is $58.23, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $49.28 and $63.70 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

How does a Web3 JS developer typically collaborate with blockchain engineers and front-end teams during a project?

A Web3 JS developer often acts as a bridge between blockchain engineers, who build and maintain smart contracts, and front-end developers, who design user interfaces. They are responsible for integrating smart contract functionality into web applications, ensuring seamless communication between the blockchain and the user-facing components. Collaboration involves frequent code reviews, shared planning sessions, and troubleshooting issues that arise when connecting decentralized networks to web platforms. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex blockchain logic into intuitive user experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Web3.js Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Web3.js Developer, you need solid JavaScript programming skills, a strong understanding of blockchain concepts, and experience integrating decentralized applications (dApps) with Ethereum or similar networks. Familiarity with the Web3.js library, smart contract development (often using Solidity), and tools like Truffle or Hardhat is typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication set outstanding developers apart in this role. These skills ensure secure, scalable, and user-friendly blockchain applications that leverage the latest in decentralized technology.

What is Web3.js and what is it used for?

Web3.js is a collection of JavaScript libraries that allows developers to interact with the Ethereum blockchain. It enables web applications to read and write data to smart contracts, query blockchain data, and manage user accounts and transactions. Web3.js is commonly used to build decentralized applications (dApps) that run in users’ browsers and communicate with Ethereum nodes. It is a key tool for developers working in the blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi) space.

Job description

About D3:
D3 is building the world's first purpose-built blockchain for DomainFi-bringing domain tokenization and DeFi primitives to a massive, rapidly growing $350B+ real-world asset class. We're revolutionizing how existing and future domain names are owned, traded, and leveraged in the digital economy.
Our elite team is stacked with industry veterans who have spent the last three decades shaping the internet, from pioneering domain name monetization to architecting key internet protocols to launching and running major TLDs like .xyz, .inc, .tv, and .link. With a proven track record of innovation and success, we're now redefining what's possible in the domain space.
We recently closed a $25M Series A led by Paradigm - one of the best investors in the industry. This will help fuel our mission to bring domains fully on-chain and unlock new financial possibilities for one of the internet's most valuable asset classes.
We're based in Los Angeles, with team members all over the world. We're looking for driven, talented builders to help build a trillion-dollar DomainFi economy. Join us!
Job Overview:
This is a hybrid role in Los Angeles where you'll help build the next generation of user-facing web applications that connect traditional DNS with Web3 naming systems. As a Frontend Engineer (Entry Level), you'll work closely with senior engineers to design, develop, and optimize interfaces for our registrar, marketplace, and decentralized apps (dApps).
This is a great opportunity for recent graduates or junior engineers to gain hands-on experience in both Web2 and Web3 technologies while contributing to products that shape the future of internet naming.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with product and design teams to turn requirements and wireframes into functional, user-friendly features.
  • Build and maintain frontend components using React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Help develop decentralized applications (dApps) that integrate Web2 and Web3 APIs.
  • Write clean, testable code and contribute to unit and integration testing.
  • Fix bugs, improve performance, and optimize existing features with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Learn and apply best practices in accessibility, SEO, and responsive design.
  • Stay curious about new technologies and contribute ideas to improve user experience.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 0-2 years of experience in frontend development (internships, projects, or open-source work all count).
  • Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred).
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
  • Exposure to Git version control and collaborative coding practices.
  • Interest in blockchain/Web3 technologies is a plus, but not required-you'll learn on the job.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn, and ability to work in a team environment.
Nice to haves:
  • Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS, Bootstrap).
  • Exposure to Web3 libraries like ethers.js or web3.js.
  • Familiarity with mobile-first design and accessibility principles.
  • Previous coursework, projects, or internships involving blockchain, NFTs, or dApps.

Why D3, Why Now?
Ground-Floor Growth, Learning, and Impact: D3 is your chance to dive headfirst into an ultra-early-stage company where every move you make truly matters. You'll have the opportunity to sharpen your skills, expand your expertise, and shape the foundation of something groundbreaking. Almost everything we're building today at D3 is "zero-to-one," meaning you'll be among the first to craft, refine, and launch key initiatives that define our future success.
Strong, Proven Leadership: At D3, you'll work alongside industry visionaries who have been there, done that, and are ready to do it again-only bigger. Our leadership team brings veteran industry experience, sharp insights, and a relentless drive to do big things across every function at D3. You'll gain invaluable mentorship, develop a high-impact mindset, and be challenged to grow in ways you never imagined.
Unique Market Positioning - We're pioneering at the intersection of internet infrastructure, real-world assets, and blockchain communities, creating solutions that redefine what's possible in Web3. If you want to push boundaries, solve complex problems, and be part of a team that's shaping the future of the Internet, D3 is the place to do it.
