Job description

Overview
Microsoft.com is evolving from a content publishing channel into an AI-powered decision platform and growth engine. We are looking for a Sr. Director of Growth & Experimentation to own the web experimentation and growth function for Microsoft's commercial web experiences, setting the strategy, operating model, measurement discipline, and roadmap for how we use data, experimentation, personalization, and AI-assisted experiences to improve customer journeys and drive measurable business impact.
As Sr. Director of Growth & Experimentation, you will build and lead a team responsible for identifying the highest-value growth opportunities across Microsoft.com, building the business cases behind them, defining the experimentation roadmap, and scaling proven learnings into always-on experiences. This role sits at the intersection of customer intent, analytics, AI-enabled experiences, personalization, product marketing, and business strategy.
This is a senior, portfolio-level leadership role. You will be expected to operate across multiple commercial solution areas, influence senior stakeholders, bring clarity to ambiguous business problems, and establish the mechanisms that help Microsoft.com become a more intelligent, personalized, and measurable customer decision engine. Success in this role requires strategic judgment, analytical depth, executive communication, people leadership, and the ability to turn fragmented signals into clear investment priorities and measurable outcomes.
Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.
Responsibilities
  • Own the web growth strategy and operating model: Define the vision, roadmap, governance, and prioritization model for experimentation, personalization, and AI-assisted customer journeys across Microsoft's commercial web portfolio.
  • Build a portfolio of high-impact growth bets: Identify the most important opportunities to improve customer engagement, discoverability, conversion, trial/signup motions, pipeline influence, and overall customer journey performance. Translate those opportunities into clear business cases and investment recommendations.
  • Lead the experimentation roadmap: Establish a structured, hypothesis-driven experimentation program across priority journeys, including intake, prioritization, test design, measurement planning, readouts, decisioning, and scaling of validated learnings.
  • Create a repeatable growth system: Build the mechanisms, dashboards, scorecards, playbooks, and governance needed to move from ad hoc optimization to a scalable, always-on test-and-learn engine.
  • Use data to drive investment decisions: Synthesize marketing analytics, behavioral signals, customer insights, experimentation results, operational data, and business performance into clear recommendations for where the organization should invest, scale, pause, or stop work.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team: Build, coach, and grow a team that brings strategic thinking, analytical rigor, customer obsession, and business ownership to the web growth function.
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture: Drive organizational adoption of experimentation and personalization practices, helping teams make decisions based on evidence, customer signals, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Embody our Culture and Values

  • Experience leading teams responsible for digital growth, experimentation, analytics, personalization, customer journey optimization, or performance strategy.
  • Experience defining strategy and operating models for complex, cross-functional programs in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience translating data, customer signals, and business priorities into clear investment recommendations.
