RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible for answering Research department phone lines, taking messages, and accurately relaying information to the appropriate study coordinator.
  2. Reads and comprehends study protocols.
  3. Pre-screens patients to participate in clinical trials following trial protocols and schedules initial screening appointments.
  4. Responds to Research web inquiries.
  5. Assists the Research Department and/or Clinical Research Coordinators with delegated tasks.
  6. Assistance with the following may be delegated but is not limited to:
    1. Subject recruitment.
    2. Directly collects data from the subject.
    3. Maintains source documents.
    4. CRF (case report form) completion and review for accuracy
    5. Ensures accurate labeling of slide photos.
    6. Filing and maintenance of all study-related documents.
    7. Schedules study visits.
    8. Documents adverse events and notifies appropriate research personnel.
    9. Assist physicians, nurses, or medical staff with medical procedures.
    10. Set up an exam room for specific procedures as indicated.
    11. Provide patient education and literature.
    12. Take pre- and post-treatment pictures.
    13. Assists in cleaning rooms.
    14. Monitor physician's schedule to maintain timely flow.
    15. Check voicemail and triage calls according to protocol on the same day.
    16. Participates and contributes to staff meetings.
  7. Assist research sites when needed to collect and record data as appropriate to the specific objectives of each study.
  8. Assist with weekly calls with different sites to follow up on sites' research requests and update sites' files as needed (licenses, and training, etc.)
  9. Collect patient data from the database as needed.
  10. Assist with the collection and preparation of materials for submission to sponsors and regulations (IRB, FDA, etc.,).
  11. Assist with tracking requests for equipment or supplies necessary for the study.
  12. Assist in maintaining and updating the research website as directed.
  13. Assist in coordinating site qualification and site initiation visits.
  14. Schedule the calibration and maintain records of research equipment calibrations, as specified by the requirements of the study.
  15. Maintain updated temperature records.
  16. As assigned by the Research Director, assist coordinators in study data entry, answering queries, and during monitoring visits or Audits.
  17. Assist coordinators in sample processing and shipping (IATA certificate).
  18. May conduct patient study visits as assigned by the Research Director (GCP certificate).
  19. Assist in all duties of the photography room as needed (upload photos, label photos, etc.,).
  20. Other Duties as assigned.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • GCP, and IATA Certificate.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Previous Clinical Research experience preferred.
  • Previous dermatology experience is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to function as part of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with physicians and providers.
  • Ability to generate respect and trust from fellow employees and patients.
  • Ability to show effective discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients for study recruitment.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, complete tasks, produce high quality work, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimum direction.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must be proactive and resourceful.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Tactful, mature, and able to interact well with diverse personalities.
  • Proficient in desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a phone, fax, copier, printer etc.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
