Job description

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION: 

Extensive transportation construction experience including functional leadership of project or task teams for a construction manager, contractor, owner, developer or designer.  Evidence of progressive career development and demonstrated expertise in leading transportation projects.


MAIN DUTIES:

Capable of managing multiple teams, and multiple assignments, taking projects from conception to completion. Actively engaged with the client, with the purpose of identifying new opportunities to expand existing work. Provides quality assurance reviews throughout projects. Prepares, monitors, and manages client project budgets. Responsible for setup, updates and closeout of project plans and opportunities in VantagePoint. Works with Accounting to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and collections. Actively participates in company activities, including but not limited to Area and company-wide events.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Expertise with MBP's diverse services. Initiates strategic approach to projects, marketing, and business development opportunities. Manages major clients, and capable of managing multiple teams and multiple assignments, taking projects from conception to completion.

  • Ability to provide a team strategy to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to lead a team’s efforts to analyze and optimize internal and external processes.
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, email, Internet navigation, web-based tools and other specialized equipment.
  • Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations.
  • Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to self-direct, manage, and prioritize.
  • Willing and able to deal constructively with conflicts.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

B.S. in engineering or construction management with five years of experience in managing transportation projects.  Specific industry-related certification, or advanced specialized technical knowledge is preferred. Detailed knowledge of transportation construction methods, principles of construction management, and/or and project controls. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in project management techniques including budgeting, leadership, training, and business development.

PE license is required. Certified Construction Manager (CCM) designation is preferred.

SUPERVISORY:

Ability to supervise large and/or multiple teams and independently perform analytical and management tasks

Status: Full-time

The base salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $160,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on work location, qualifications, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
