Job description

Robert Half is seeking a Web Platform Lead on behalf of our partner in the Madison area. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can lead a team while serving as the technical owner of enterprise web technologies and digital experiences.

The team operates in an Agile/Scrum environment and partners closely with business stakeholders to deliver, enhance, and support digital experiences.

The Role

The Web Platform Lead will oversee the technical direction, health, and ongoing development of the organization's web platforms while leading and developing a team of web developers and analysts.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of web developers and analysts, including coaching, performance management, and career development.
  • Own the technical direction of enterprise web platforms and supporting technologies, including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Coveo, Cloudflare, and related digital solutions.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership through solution design, architecture, code reviews, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex technical issues.
  • Establish and maintain development standards, architecture practices, and governance to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable platforms.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, architects, and project teams to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
  • Lead technical delivery across multiple initiatives while maintaining the reliability and performance of existing platforms.
  • Develop platform roadmaps and drive modernization, continuous improvement, and technical debt reduction.
  • Manage team priorities, capacity, and resources across project and operational support needs.
  • Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to deliver solutions and maintain platform standards.
  • Represent the web platform team in technology planning and leadership discussions.

  • 8+ years of experience delivering enterprise web or digital experience solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience leading technical teams, including coaching and developing direct reports.
  • Strong experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and enterprise digital experience platforms.
  • Experience defining technical architecture, standards, roadmaps, and governance for web platforms.
  • Strong understanding of web application architecture, system integrations, security, scalability, and performance.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing vendors, implementation partners, or external technology providers.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical leadership, people leadership, and long-term platform strategy.
  • Proficiency with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, and React.

This is a strong opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys developing people while also having meaningful ownership over the technology, architecture, and future direction of a web platform.
