Job description

Position Summary:
The Student Multimedia Marketing Intern supports the Strategic Communications and Marketing team in promoting university life through engaging, multi-platform content. This role provides hands-on experience in writing, design, photography, video, and social media while contributing to the university's overall marketing and communication efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and edit content for web, email, and other university communications
  • Design graphics and layouts for digital and print materials, including social media, promotional pieces, and special projects
  • Capture photo and video content for use in university marketing materials
  • Develop engaging multimedia content, including short-form videos, reels, and visual storytelling assets
  • Write and edit captions and other copy for social media and university publications
  • Collaborate with team members to generate content ideas and storytelling strategies
  • Conduct interviews with students, faculty, and staff to support storytelling efforts
  • Edit photos and videos using industry-standard tools
  • Provide photo and video coverage at campus events

Required Qualifications:
  • Current McMurry University student in good academic standing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in marketing, communications, media, or a related field
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms
  • Basic knowledge of photography, video, or design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) preferred
