Job description
The Training Supervisor will be responsible for developing the competencies of individual employees by designing and conducting training programs that will enhance employee's workplace performance. This role supervises and assists the training coordinator and the material handler trainer to train new employees in all required operations and manufacturing tasks specific to their department. You will be responsible for tracking and performing training needs assessments, designing, and delivering curriculum and learning materials for managing all phases of training interventions.

Manchester is a city in Delaware County, Iowa, United States, located along the Highway 20 corridor between Dyersville and Independence. Delaware County is centrally located just 45 minutes from some of Iowa's biggest hubs (Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Dubuque) - but you don't need to go far to find excitement. Responsibilities- Directly supervises and assists the training coordinator and material handling trainer with all training activities
- Map out annual training plans for management and operators
- Design and develop training programs using training manuals, work instructions / SOP's and videos
- Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training)
- Track training by employee and maintain records
- Conduct site-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
- Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques
- Develop and prepare educational/training aids and materials, as needed
- Develop training metrics and competency assessments to gauge overall impact of training program
- Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
- Track feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session
- Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design
- Maintain updated curriculum database and training records
- Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
- Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment
- Evaluate effectiveness of training courses and provide summary reports to management, determine impact of training on employee skills and corporate goals
- Assesses training needs.
- Monitor employee performance and response to training
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area in accordance with 5s requirements.
- Comply with safety and health regulations for the protection of self and fellow workers.
- Comply with current Quality Systems requirements.
- Follow safety policies to include the use of PPE.
- Perform other work as assigned by Management including 5S cleaning.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting from grams up to 50 pounds.
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and twisting as necessary.
- Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid)
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment such as gloves, respirator, safety glasses, metatarsal guard shoes, etc., as required in established policy.
- Must work from 10 inches to 60 inches above the floor and reach 24 inches side to side
- Work experience as a trainer, coach, or training facilitator, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, familiarity with web delivery tools
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work loads
Education, Experience, Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in education, training, manufacturing, or related field preferred
- Experience developing learning strategies that include digital learning preferred
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
