Job description

The Position Join the City of Beaverton's Information Technology and Services team to shape the internal tools and web experiences that hundreds of City staff rely on every day. As the city's next Web Analyst, you'll be the go-to partner for city-branded sites and applications: guiding software developers so new web apps feel native to the city, administering and improving SharePoint and Microsoft Power Platform solutions, and championing accessible, usable, and secure design across our web ecosystem. This role is hands-on and highly collaborative.

You'll work closely with the communications team, software developers, and business analysts to translate business needs into intuitive site structures and automated workflows. Having a solid understanding of software architecture will be important, but programming experience is not required: this role is more about applying strong User Interface/User Experience judgment to the city's tools. Upcoming projects include helping the city transition to a new Content Management System and redesigning internal SharePoint sites, ensuring smooth implementation, quality assurance, and stakeholder adoption.

If you have great web design experience, enjoy working on a broad range of projects, thrive on troubleshooting, and care about inclusive, compliant web experiences, please apply. This is a full-time, exempt, Management 2 (M2) position. There is one vacancy.

This position will be eligible for a hybrid schedule (up to 3 days per week of remote work) following probation. Please click APPLY to submit your application via the City of Beaverton's online portal. You will need to enter your work history and respond to several supplemental questions.

Your education, skills, and experience will be evaluated using the information you provide in the application and supplemental questions. Attaching a resume or cover letter does not replace the requirement to fully complete the application. Responsibilities Web systems and application management Manage, analyze, design, implement, and maintain city websites, portals, applications, processes, and content management systems.

Monitor and manage web infrastructure, integrated systems, content management systems, and web applications, including security of those systems. Recommend alternatives or replacement technology. Oversee maintenance, upgrades, and conversion of existing web systems to new technologies and business models.

Site administration, design, and configuration Administer internal and external websites and portals, including reconfiguring sites with new templates, layouts, design elements, and styles. Provide advanced support for web content managers in other city departments. Design and develop automated processes, scripts, and procedures to support data management, security, validation, compliance, and reporting.

Web modernization, usability & accessibility Research, test, recommend, and implement new web technologies, ADA/usability standards, security models, and industry best practices. Conduct QA and performance testing for existing and new web applications, CMS packages, and web tools. Assess web business processes and recommend redesigns, upgrades, or replacements.

Cross-department collaboration and project work Lead cross-departmental efforts to modernize, optimize, and secure city web platforms. Collaborate with ITS colleagues on infrastructure upgrades, security, and ongoing maintenance. Meet with staff across the city to determine needed program enhancements, maintenance needs, and application updates.

Customer service and organizational effectiveness Provide thoughtful and empathetic internal and external customer service. Model and support city values, including inclusion, respect, and belonging. Additional duties are outlined in the Web Analyst class specification.

Qualifications Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field; and Five years of experience in advanced web application development, web process analysis, advanced web design, programming, and database development; or An equivalent combination of education and experience enabling the incumbent toperform the essential functions of the position. Licensing and special requirements Ability to pass reference checks and education verification, and satisfy the requirements of a background check, including Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) fingerprints. The successful candidate must obtain CJIS certification within 30 days of hire.

Annual recertification is required Ability to satisfy the requirements of a pre-employment drug screen (includes screening for marijuana). Studies have shown that some candidates hesitate to apply for a position if they do not believe they meet 100% of the hiring criteria. The city's talent acquisition goals include hiring the candidate who is best able to meet the performance objectives of the role.

We encourage people with non-traditional skill sets and experiences to apply, even if you believe you do not meet 100% of the qualifications and hiring criteria described. Compensation Salary range: $7,096.88 - $9,509.15 monthly Starting pay within the posted range is based on a review of your related work experience, as required by the Oregon Equal Pay Act.
