Role Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced Software Engineer to lead the development of the software and services necessary for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of large robot fleets across many customer facilities. This role has a broad span from the design of data pipelines to operator-facing interfaces.

In this role you will:

  • Design and implement the back-end services for everything thatโ€™s needed to keep a large fleet of robots working efficiently, including:
  • Integration with customer systems
  • Management of software updates
  • Real-time fleet orchestration & coordination
  • Robot onboarding and provisioning
  • Health & performance monitoring
  • Anonymized data collection
  • Develop data pipelines for secure real-time streaming between robots, edge devices, and cloud services that are robust to breaks in connectivity
  • Implement on-robot software that enables secure, access-controlled teleoperation and assignment execution
  • Create intuitive, performant front-end web applications for robot operators, facility managers, and Maven engineers
  • Work with customers to understand their particular operational requirements, and propose elegant solutions that minimize the footprint of any tailoring

You will be working closely with the Field Operations, Information Systems, DevOps, MLOps and Platform Software teams.

Qualifications

Must-have:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years full-stack software development experience
  • Experience in the development of data-intensive web applications backed by streaming data sources
  • Knowledge of frameworks for front-end web development, such as React
  • Knowledge of real-time data pipelines & cloud databases
  • Ability to take ownership of a large, strategically important development project and drive its success
  • Willingness to step in and support other teams when we have tight deadlines and problems to solve

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in the development of scalable multi-agent orchestration software
  • Awareness of robot to fleet manager communication standards
  • Hands-on experience in the operation of robot fleets
