SUMMARY:

Intended for current 1Ls and 2Ls. This position allows the intern to gain hands-on experience within a boutique law firm specializing in healthcare law; An ideal candidate excels in working under pressure and is a team player.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follows up on administrative appeals and documentation submitted to health insurers and governmental payers.
  • Works well with attorneys and paralegals.
  • Maintains workload.
  • Updates and maintains records.
  • Ensures compliance with procedures.
  • Maintains professional growth and development.
  • Is skilled, aggressive, cordial, and professional on the telephone to follow up on submitted appeals.
  • Performs any other administrative duties as may be necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate or undergraduate degree.
  • Other skills required:
    1. 1L or 2L Student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
    3. Interest in healthcare and healthcare law preferred.
    4. Highly organized, aggressive, outgoing, and detail-oriented.
    5. Clear, concise, and logical writing style.
    6. Highly attentive to detail.
    7. Be able to handle large amounts of paperwork for a busy office.
    8. Must have excellent organizational skills.
