Job description

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join Bernstein's IT department in New York.

The Development Manager will be responsible for applications used by Sales and Research to distribute research and provide insights to clients through various in-house and 3rd party applications. The applications include CRM, websites, Aggregators, Email distribution. The role will oversee the development, integration and optimization of vendor and proprietary applications. The Development Manager will lead a distributed team of developers and collaborate with Product Management, Client Strategy and Front office stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions including AI driven workflow automation.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

       Oversee development and maintenance of a suite of Sales applications with a mix of home grown and vendor applications including CRM, .NET applications and integrations.

       Lead and coordinate work effectively with global development team in partnership with Product, Client Strategy, Front office, support and vendor teams

       Manage application lifecycle from requirements through deployment and support.

       Hands on technical application development and integration experience with Microsoft .NET, Azure, Web Applications, CRM, Rest API and database technologies, following DevSecOps and Agile practices.

       Lead and mentor a global team including employees and offshore resources.

       Learn and implement best practices within the team, in-line with bank-wide global standards including Information Security, Compliance and Risk management policies.

       Support critical business processes and applications in production.

       Drive AI-based workflow automation initiatives leveraging Azure and other emerging technologies

Basic Qualifications

       Strong problemsolving skills with attention to detail, and the ability to learn new concepts and contribute to solution development.

       5 Years of experience as a development manager

       10 Years of broader development experience

       Ability to apply professional knowledge and experience to propose practical, valuedriven solutions.

       Comfortable working in fastpaced, matrixed environments with varying priorities.

       Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, exercise sound judgment, and prioritize work to achieve intended outcomes.

       Strong verbal and written communication skills.

       Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)

       Knowledge of equity research and capital markets.

       Experience using workflow automation tools, such as Microsoft Power Automate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
