Job Description

As our Principal Environmental Engineer, you will be an individual contributor responsible for applying knowledge of safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, science, to identify, analyze, and resolve industrial hygiene and environmental issues.  This senior position will work hand-in-hand with stie management, and support personnel, and work to ensure overall compliance of the site.

  • Maintain safety & environmental standards based on risk/hazard analysis to meet regulatory requirements and HSE management systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
  • Collaborate and participate as a valued member of the site leadership team to provide HSE guidance, technical support and coordinate activities and processes.
  • Lead and/or provide safety, industrial hygiene and environmental input for the specification, design, build and launch of new processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other Bosch HSE sites and regions to improve overall performance in North America
  • Coverage at manufacturing stie as well as distribution centers in area.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, or related major.
  • 5+ years HSE experience in a manufacturing environment that involves the use of hazardous chemicals and gases. Direct involvement with the storage and disposal of hazardous waste. 
  • Experience in identifying, evaluating, and developing procedural and system solutions that are cost effective and meet user requirements for the management of safety, industrial hygiene and environmental issues.  This should include; chemical/gas safety, industrial hygiene monitoring, hazardous waste disposal, hazardous building materials, air permitting, wastewater,  and exhaust ventilation.
  • Strong computer and data management skills desired. Experience with web-based applications (State and Federal Systems), Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, etc.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, while driving individual project work and activities towards the team's goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist.
  • Knowledgeable in Federal and Kansas hazardous waste management and other environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Management of Environmental Programs like SPCC, SWPPP, Wastewater.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment and basic regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of chemicals and gases used in the manufacturing of HVAC Systems (Refrigerants)  to include the potential hazardous effects of exposure and corresponding best practices to minimize those hazards.
  • Embrace responsibility, initiative, capacity to work independently and dedication to producing high quality work through a high level of personal motivation, integrity, and accountability.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize in a challenging environment of competing needs, implement and bring projects to closure in a timely manner.
  • Effective communicator with demonstrated ability to interact comfortably and communicate effectively to multiple cross functional audiences and teams.
  • Ability to coordinate,  create and deliver Environmental Training as needed.
