Job description

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.


As a Software Developer you will have the opportunity to do the following:

  • Demonstrate a knowledge of standard programming algorithms, design patterns, and object-oriented software design
  • Develop, evaluate, and review C++ language code programming using C++, Python 3, and MATLAB
  • Have experience with model-based system engineering approaches
  • Collaborate with team members to design future enhancements
  • Develop software for an advanced synthetic modeling and training environment. 
  • Support software development, software integration, customer training, and demonstrations.
  • Develop Web-based applications using development technology
  • Design tests ensuring proper behavior of models.

  • Minimum 4-5 years of relevant work experience
  • At least 4-5 years with weapons systems modeling. 
  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering. Degrees in Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or Aerospace, Computer, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering may qualify with at least 5 year's of C++ experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
