Shape Internet Security

You will be part of a diverse team that designs, develops and maintains high‐reliability systems supporting Akamai's Connected Cloud of 300k+ servers located worldwide. As a Senior Architect, you will have an opportunity to work and collaborate in an international environment with cross‑functional teams, including stakeholders and other developers, to deliver high‑quality software solutions with a focus on automation, scalability and reliability.

As a Senior Architect , you will:

  • Working closely with product management and engineering teams to describe and design solutions aligned with Akamai's strategy and roadmap.

  • Presenting and supporting architectural designs and technical visions to internal cross‑functional teams

  • Defining and implementing standards for systems design, development, comprehensive testing and quality assurance practices

  • Designing reliable, high‑quality, usable software that meets the needs of our business for robust, scalable, and highly available systems

  • Conducting research on emerging trends and technologies related to network operations and automation

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 12 years experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent practical experience

  • Have solid experience in distributed system architecture design and implementation, with a track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and secure solutions

  • Present and support architectural and security designs and technical visions to internal cross‑functional teams

  • Have experience in software development life cycle including in the Unix/Linux environment

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $169,300 - $304,700/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry‑leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
