Web Developer (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Hybrid | Dallas/Fort Worth, TX
Duration: 3-6 Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $50-$65/hr
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Web Developer to join a fast-paced, collaborative development team supporting multiple high-visibility web platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on developer with strong expertise in WordPress, PHP, and Symfony who thrives in lean environments and can make an immediate impact.
In this role, you'll develop custom web solutions, modernize existing websites, build integrations, and contribute to digital transformation initiatives that directly support business operations.
What You'll Be Doing:
WordPress Development
  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins
  • Build scalable, secure, and maintainable WordPress solutions
  • Enhance existing websites and create new functionality based on business needs
  • Participate in website modernization and CMS migration projects
PHP & Backend Development
  • Build and maintain backend applications using object-oriented PHP
  • Develop solutions leveraging Symfony and related frameworks
  • Create reusable, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Design and support REST APIs and third-party integrations
Integrations & Authentication
  • Develop integrations with internal and external systems
  • Support Single Sign-On (SSO) and authentication initiatives
  • Integrate with CRM platforms, email systems, donation platforms, and other business applications
AI-Assisted Development
  • Leverage tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI platforms to improve efficiency and code quality
  • Apply security, privacy, and quality controls to AI-assisted development
  • Identify opportunities for workflow automation and process improvement
Collaboration & Quality
  • Partner with developers, designers, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices

Required Qualifications:
✅ 5+ years of professional web development experience in
  • WordPress development (custom themes, plugins, backend architecture)
  • PHP development
  • Symfony framework
  • REST API development and integrations
  • Git version control and development best practices
  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design
✅ Strong Experience with:
  • Third-party integrations and business applications
  • Development, Test, and Production environments
  • Working independently and contributing with minimal onboarding
✅ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:
