Web design is the process of creating the visual layout, user interface, and overall aesthetic of websites. It involves selecting color schemes, fonts, images, and the arrangement of elements to ensure a site is visually appealing and easy to navigate. Web designers also focus on usability, accessibility, and responsive design so that websites look and function well on all devices. Their work often bridges creativity and technical skills, working closely with developers and clients to bring digital ideas to life.

How does a web designer typically collaborate with developers and other team members during a project?

Web designers frequently work closely with developers, project managers, and content creators to ensure that website designs are both visually appealing and technically feasible. Collaboration often involves participating in regular team meetings, sharing design prototypes, and providing detailed specifications for developers. Designers are also expected to adapt their designs based on feedback from stakeholders and technical constraints, making strong communication skills essential. This teamwork ensures a smooth workflow from concept to live website, resulting in a user-friendly and functional final product.

What We’re Looking For

Zebra’s AI, SDLC, licensing, and Web Apps teams are at the forefront of digital transformation, actively recruiting a visionary Senior Software Engineer / AI Enterprise Systems Analyst to revolutionize our AI, SDLC, licensing, and Web Apps solution space. As the demands of our products evolve, we are moving beyond traditional portals to build a deeply intelligent, “frictionless” customer experience. This involves accelerating the software development lifecycle utilizing AI agents, integration of Large Language Models (LLMs), developing dynamic Agentic interfaces, creating intelligent bots for database alignment, and building modular, scalable UI components. In this role, you will do more than write exceptional code. You will serve as a core technical leader and primary communicator, bridging the gap between cutting‑edge AI capabilities and business strategy. Working closely with product development and order management communities, you will provide the functional leadership necessary to guide global teams through complex integrations. If you are passionate about pioneering AI‑assisted workflows, mentoring engineering teams, and shaping the future of customer experience at Zebra, then this role is for you.

Responsibilities
  • AI‑Driven Development & Architecture
Agentic UI & Frontend AI Integration: Lead the design, architecture, and development of highly interactive, AI‑first frontend systems and custom interfaces using modern frameworks backed by LLM capabilities, accelerating the software development life cycle and reducing time to market.
  • Intelligent Automation
Architect and develop intelligent bots and re‑usable AI modules to ensure seamless alignment across complex databases and existing enterprise applications.
  • Next‑Gen Enhancements
Continually analyze market needs to elevate SaaS and enterprise‑wide applications, transitioning legacy processes into automated, predictive, and frictionless user journeys.
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship
Engineering Excellence: Act as the technical anchor for an Agile Scrum team. Lead architectural design sessions, establish modern coding standards, and implement AI‑assisted developer workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to multiply team velocity.
  • Mentorship
Guide, mentor, and elevate mid‑level and junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, secure coding practices, and continuous learning within a global team environment.
  • Strategic Communication & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Translating AI to Business Value: Serve as the technical translator between engineering and business stakeholders. Confidently analyze, evaluate, and communicate how modern AI tools can solve complex business problems and improve ease‑of‑use.
  • Requirements & Roadmapping
Collaborate deeply with product managers and customers to define clear use cases, user stories, and technical requirements for new generative AI features and software extensions.
  • Escalation & Resolution
Provide confident, timely technical leadership during problem resolution and customer escalations, ensuring the highest level of trust and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent of 3+ years of practical experience gained through industry roles, professional experience, or applied AI software development.
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer/developer in an Agile environment, with a proven trajectory into technical leadership and modern application architecture.
  • 1‑2 years AI development experience with LLMs, and AI code‑centric models like Cursor, Claude, GitHub Co‑Pilot.
  • Modern AI & LLM Tooling: Hands‑on experience integrating Large Language Models (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Claude) via REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) and prompt engineering.
  • AI Front‑Focused Development: Deep expertise in modern frontend ecosystems, specifically ReactJS, TypeScript, and modern CSS/HTML, with a focus on building dynamic, state‑heavy, responsive web applications.
  • Backend & Integration: Strong foundation in Java, SpringBoot, RESTful Services, and MVC architecture to effectively bridge AI frontends with robust enterprise backend systems.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to actively listen, articulate complex architectural decisions to non‑technical stakeholders, and act autonomously.
  • Developer Productivity: Experience leveraging AI developer tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to accelerate coding, debugging, and testing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Agentic Frameworks: Experience building autonomous agents, "Agentic UI," or implementations involving Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Legacy to Modernization: Experience migrating or integrating with legacy Java technologies (JSP, Servlets, Hibernate, JPA) while building net‑new modern frontends.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Experience with Cloud frameworks (Amazon Web Services preferred) and secure, automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Maven, SonarQube, Tenable).
  • Data Systems: Experience with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, and an understanding of how to align data structures for AI consumption.
