NAVA Software is looking for a Sr. WordPress Web Developer
Details:
Title: Senior WordPress Web Developer
Location: Scottsdale, AZ - hybrid
Duration: 12 months
Contract with a potential to convert into FTE.
The Senior Web Developer will be responsible for the layout, functionality, and development of our websites, including regional sites, to deliver optimal user experiences. The successful candidate should be familiar with web best practices and current tools, including web design, development, and responsive (mobile-friendly) solutions. This position includes primary responsibility for SEO performance & monitoring as well as related traffic analytics.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary project teams like Product, HR, IT, etc. to assess, scope, and fulfill web requests
  • Track and update web requests in Asana
  • Oversee deliverable management to ensure requirements are fulfilled and deadlines are met
  • Translate requirements and mockups into intuitive, functional, and responsive designs for user-friendly websites, landing pages, and HTML emails
  • Manage Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and SEMRush installation, tracking and reporting
  • Monitor and analyze site performance including page load speeds and response capacity
  • Utilize tools for testing and optimizing websites across browsers, operating systems and devices
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and technology related to web layouts, PHP, Javascript, HTML, and CSS standards
  • Strong understanding of design, copy, and coding practices
  • Complete front-end development and code reviews, including new site/page builds, maintaining existing code, and refactoring to meet deadlines or to increase maintainability, performance, and/or responsiveness
  • Work within a cross-functional team of front and back-end engineers, QA, product, and UI/UX while building, planning, and managing the rollout of changes
  • Develop features to enhance the user experience and optimize conversions
  • Optimize page and site design for maximum speed and scalability
  • Participate in keyword research and strategy
  • Ensure regular backups/updates to maintain performance for all five domains and their regions
  • Modify themes/plugins/modules to maintain site security and achieve business goals
  • Conduct regular SEO audits and implement SEO updates based on audit results or recommendations from an outside agency
  • Promote a culture of innovation and teamwork while mentoring any direct reports

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience executing web design, front-end web development
  • Understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Tag Manager and how to create custom Reports, Tags, Triggers, Events, Goals, and Variables
  • Mastery of WordPress (Elementor), WP Engine, SEMRush and PHP in order to create, modify, and maintain pages/themes/modules/plugins
  • Good understanding of Cookie consent management and related applications like CookieYes
  • Mastery of web languages and infrastructures including HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, Bootstrap
  • Proficient in MySQL and phpMyAdmin database management, code versioning tools, such as Git, SEO and ability to implement, Windows Server and IIS
  • Some experience with C# (Sitefinity) and Joomla would be a plus
