Job description

SUMMARY
Grand Sierra Resort, voted Best Hotel and Gaming Resort in Reno multiple years in a row, is seeking a talented Graphic & Motion Designer. As a key member of GSR's in house Creative team, you will contribute to everything from large scale campaigns to fast turn social content, video graphics, on property digital screens, brand assets, signage, and more. This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in a fast paced environment, loves variety, and is equally comfortable concepting a brand campaign as creating dynamic motion graphics for digital platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Develop compelling visual concepts across print, digital, and video platforms.
• Work closely with the Creative Director to bring campaigns from ideation to polished final output.
• Translate strategic objectives into visually engaging creative across all GSR brands and venues.
• Design and animate motion graphics for digital signage, broadcast, social media, and in house video content.
• Create kinetic typography, lower thirds, transitions, animated logos, and promotional motion assets.
• Collaborate with the video team to produce cohesive, high impact visual storytelling.
• Design and prepare print collateral including direct mail, signage, menus, posters, and event materials.
• Create digital assets for web, email, social, and paid media.
• Maintain brand consistency across all channels and ensure production ready accuracy.
• Partner with internal stakeholders-from marketing and entertainment to food & beverage and gaming-to understand needs and deliver effective, on brand creative.
• Work with external vendors, printers, and production partners to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with precision, organization, and communication.
• Meet requirements of regular attendance in order to effectively complete job responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Highly self motivated, organized, accountable, and able to handle competing deadlines.
• Strong communicator who maintains a positive, solutions focused approach with team members and internal clients.
• Ability to present and articulate design decisions clearly.
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating in a team environment.
• Detail oriented and committed to delivering polished, high quality work.
• Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Motion Design, Visual Communication, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years of professional design experience, ideally in a fast paced, multi brand environment.
• Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, especially:
• After Effects (core requirement; advanced motion skills expected)
• Photoshop
• Illustrator
• InDesign
• Premiere Pro
• Strong portfolio demonstrating:
• Motion graphics work (broadcast, social, digital signage, etc.)
• Print and digital design
• Branding and campaign development
• Or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly sitting and occasionally standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, and kneeling during the duration of their shift.
• Must be able to push/pull 10lbs or less occasionally.
• The team member will constantly have repetitive use of both hands, frequent light grasping motions, and occasional firm/strong grasping motions. Finger dexterity of both hands will be constantly required.
• Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
