As the primary writer for product copy, you'll own the creation and optimization of product descriptions, collection messaging, and PDP content that inspires customers and supports conversion. Who We Are:

Founded in 2014, Studio McGee, Inc. is one of the fastest growing home design brands in America. Our journey began with a thriving interiors business that focused on approachable, yet aspirational design. By leveraging the power of digital communities, we were able to expand our footprint in the interior design industry through an unconventional approach that connected us with our consumers. We continued to carry that forward-thinking attitude into the launch of our retail business, McGee & Co., which anchors the operational and revenue growth of our company. Our licensing partnerships allow us to further expand our design voice beyond our own collection. From a multi-year partnership with Target to an Emmy-nominated Netflix Series and a NY Times Best-Selling book, Studio McGee's passion is to empower people to design with an approachability that enhances their daily life and elevates their everyday. Whether following us on social media or becoming part of our company, we invite you to join us on our mission to “Make Life Beautiful.”

What You'll Do:

  • Own product copy creation and maintenance for McGee & Co., including product descriptions, collection copy, category copy, and product storytelling.
  • Partner with Ecommerce and Merchandising teams to enhance PDPs through improved messaging, product highlights, feature callouts, and customer-focused content.
  • Optimize product and web content using SEO best practices to improve discoverability, organic traffic, and customer engagement.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, enhance content quality, and support content optimization efforts.
  • Serve as a lead writer for promotional campaigns, developing messaging for sales, launches, seasonal moments, and key business initiatives.
  • Maintain consistency in brand voice across all customer-facing communications.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Ecommerce, Merchandising, and Creative teams to support business goals.
  • Contribute ideas for new content opportunities and customer experiences.
  • Flex into broader copywriting projects, including editorial content, brand storytelling, campaign development, and other marketing initiatives as the business grows.

What You'll Bring:

  • 2–3+ years of copywriting experience, preferably within retail, ecommerce, lifestyle, home, or consumer brands.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to create concise, engaging, and conversion-focused copy.
  • Experience writing product descriptions, website content, email marketing, or other ecommerce-focused content.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and how to apply keyword strategy to ecommerce and marketing content.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered writing, research, and content optimization tools, with a curiosity for how emerging technologies can improve content performance and efficiency.
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to balance creativity with business objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from cross-functional partners.
  • Analytical thinking and an interest in using content performance insights to inform future copy decisions.
  • A genuine passion for home, interior design, and the McGee & Co. aesthetic.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation + bonuses
  • Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, pet)
