About the Position

P&A Industrial Fabrications is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Roxboro, North Carolina.

This position will serve as the facility’s technical expert for weave data and will be responsible for developing accurate product costs, maintaining manufacturing standards, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, capacity, and profitability.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 10 years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within textile manufacturing. Extensive knowledge of weaving processes, weave specifications, product costing, and production data is essential.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the facility’s subject matter expert for weave data, weave specifications, product construction, machine settings, and production requirements.
  • Maintain accurate weave data, product specifications, manufacturing routings, and production standards.
  • Review weave designs and product specifications to determine material requirements, machine capabilities, labor needs, and expected production rates.
  • Develop and maintain accurate product costs, including raw materials, labor, machine time, overhead, waste, and other manufacturing expenses.
  • Prepare cost estimates for new products, customer inquiries, product changes, and special manufacturing requests.
  • Compare estimated costs to actual production results and investigate significant variances.
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, workflow reviews, and production observations
  • Establish and maintain labor, machine, and production standards.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, increase throughput, improve equipment utilization, and lower manufacturing costs.
  • Evaluate plant layout, workflow, material handling, staffing, and equipment utilization.
  • Analyze production data to identify constraints, inefficiencies, quality concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support new product development by determining manufacturing requirements, production standards, capacity needs, and expected costs.
  • Partner with production, quality, maintenance, sales, and finance to resolve manufacturing and costing issues.
  • Assist with equipment evaluations, process changes, automation opportunities, and capital projects.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical work instructions.
  • Monitor completed improvement projects and report results to management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Approximately 10 years of industrial engineering, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar experience.
  • Expertise in weave data, weave construction, weaving processes, and textile manufacturing specifications.
  • Strong experience with product costing in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of raw-material usage, labor standards, machine rates, overhead allocation, waste, and cost-variance analysis.
  • Experience conducting time studies, workflow analyses, capacity studies, and continuous-improvement projects.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with manufacturing, costing, or enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and complex production data.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate information.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with production employees, supervisors, managers, and company leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with limited supervision.
