About The Role:

The Investment Strategy & Consulting (IS&C) team within Baird Private Wealth Management (PWM) plays a key role in ensuring that Baird Financial Advisors have the tools and capabilities across our investment, liquidity, retirement plans, and insurance platforms necessary for delivering great outcomes for our clients. Strategically at Baird, we believe that delivering a great Wealth Management Experience for clients is built upon three pillars: Investment Consulting, Wealth Planning, and Relationship Management.

The Investment ProductsConsultantis responsible forpartnering with Financial Advisors, Branch Associates,Portfolio Managers, and other Key Partners seeking information on mutual funds andETFsavailable across the platform andassistswith the day-to-day management of multiple solutions. The Consultant will work with various areas of the firm to develop guidelines, tools, and best practices in support of the business, and will also incorporate external and internal feedback to ensure our Clients and Financial Advisors have theappropriate resourcesat their disposal.The Investment Products Consultant will help execute on the risk-managed growth strategy of mutual funds and ETFs offerings used by clients of Baird as well as the broader ecosystem within Private Wealth Management. The candidate that fills this role will work alongside the Investment Products Manager and will also be responsible for partnering across the Wealth Solutions Group (WSG), other teams within PWM, and Corporate Resource Groups (CRGs) that support the organic and acquisitive growth strategies of the business, as effective collaboration is key to driving progress across IS&C's strategic priorities:

  • Clients - Deliver solutions aligned with Baird's Wealth Management Experience. Branch Network - Increase scale and productivity while ensuring branch associates have adopted relevant and widely-utilized solutions in their practices.
  • Baird PWM - Collaborate to drive sustainable PWM growth while helping to manage firm risk.

By forging strong relationships with Baird Financial Advisors ("FAs"), the Investment Products Consultant will be expected to be a true partner in the delivery of great client outcomes. In addition to partnering with internal teams, the Investment Products Consultant will work with Financial Advisors and Client Specialists delivering expert knowledge on advice specific to mutual funds & ETFs, solutions and strategies, allowing the implementation of informed decision making.

The Impact You'll Make:

  • Serve as subject matter expert to Financial Advisors and Branch Associates to articulate information on mutual funds and ETFs
  • Consult with Financial Advisors and Client Specialists to evaluate clients' needs while navigating investment solutions including elements of financial planning
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external partners to ensure alignment with procedures and policies including but not limited to compliance, supervision and operations
  • Maintain internal and external relationships and retain an in-depth familiarity with the investment products platform in support of Baird Financial Advisors and Portfolio Managers
  • Play a key role in coordinating and executing policy decisions as well as the ongoing platform maintenance that is required to ensure compliance with REG BI policies, including but not limited to, an annual mutual fund and ETF investment product rationalization
  • Partner internally with Legal/Compliance, Operations, Investment Solutions, Marketing & Communications, and other areas necessary to ensure the consistent application of broader strategic initiatives
  • Stay informed of industry and regulatory developments to help identify and address gaps within the investment products platform specific to mutual funds and ETFS
  • Develop and deliver educational content that is relevant to Investment products specific to mutual funds and ETFs
  • Proactively develop ideas and initiatives to sustainably grow the investment products platform
  • Enhance internal processes to make investment products' processes efficient and scalable
  • Effectively partner on broader initiatives to grow, support and evolve the investment products platform
  • Occasional travel is required for advisor/branch education and industry symposium education events
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Investment Products Manager

What You'll Bring To Baird:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience in the financial services industry required
  • SIE, Series 7 & 66 licensed required within 12 months of start date
  • Ability to learn and effectively navigate Baird's Private Wealth Management technology platforms (Thomson ONE, ValueOne, Morningstar, etc.)
  • Exceptional client service skills including both written and verbal
  • The candidate will have the opportunity to work with all levels of associates and management, including technical topics to Financial Advisors individually and in a group setting
  • Strong computer skills, including proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills - ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to act as a team player, assisting others in the department, when necessary, is mandatory
  • Possesses a high attention to detail
