Job description

Location: William Booth Center (811 Maynard Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134)

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00pm-6:30am

Pay: $27.54/hour

Status: Regular Full-Time/Non-Exempt

The William Booth Center (WBC) Shelter Supervisor is responsible for all supervisory responsibilities associated with front desk operations, including shift scheduling, timecards, payroll preparations, approving paid time off (PTO) requests, ensuring standard operating procedures (SOP) are followed, coordinating shift adjustments and other related tasks in coordination with the Assistant Director of WBC. In addition, the Shelter Supervisor provides administrative support to the William Booth Center in addition to leading and assisting with the training and ongoing support of staff. This position will receive daily supervision from the Assistant Director of WBC along with direct consultation on complex matters.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct supervision of Shelter Support Staff in coordination with the Assistant Director of WBC.
  • Assist as needed in the hiring of permanent, temporary, and on-call shelter staff.
  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings.
  • Conduct staff meetings for WBC’s shelter program staff.
  • Provide policy and procedure guidance to Shelter Support Staff.
  • Provide supportive care to residents experiencing personal crises.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in public contact/customer service.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness in a shelter/residential program.
  • Experience with and understanding of Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health First Aid, and conflict resolution.

    Life and Voluntary Options. An employer-paid life insurance policy covers employees. Voluntary supplemental life, short-term and long-term disability plans are available.

    Retirement Plans: Employer-funded Money Purchase Pension Plan (Defined Contribution Plan) 50% vested at five years eligible service time. Plus, an employee-funded voluntary 403(b) option.

    Parental Leave: The benefit is 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events.

    Sick Leave: 12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months’ service time.

    Paid Vacation:

    • Two weeks annually, accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions.
    • Four weeks annually, accruing from day one, for exempt positions.
    • Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months’ service time.

    Paid Holidays: 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year
