Registered Nurse- Operating Room

Tryfacta is seeking a Registered Nurse- Operating Room for our client in Fort Bliss, TX 79906. This is a temporary contract assignment.

Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN)- Operating Room

Location: William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC), Fort Bliss, TX 79906

Work Setting: Operating Room

Position Summary: The Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct perioperative nursing care to surgical patients at WBAMC. This role supports pre‐operative, intra‐operative, and post‐operative phases of care while coordinating closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical support staff in a high‐acuity military medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care using established nursing standards and WBAMC protocols
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring correct patient, procedure, and surgical site verification
  • Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and emotional well‐being throughout the surgical continuum
  • Administer medications and document care accurately in electronic medical records
  • Act as a liaison between the surgical team, patients, and families
  • Respond to emergent and life‐saving situations in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Support infection control, sterile technique, and patient safety initiatives
  • Participate in briefing, time‐out, and debrief processes as required

Work Profile:

  • Schedule: Rotational inpatient schedule; may include Panama or alternating shifts (e.g., 36/44 hours) based on ward mission, ensuring no more than 80 hours per pay period
  • Credentialing: New hires must complete full WBAMC credentialing, immunization verification, background checks, and security clearance prior to start
  • Clinical Environment: High‐volume OR supporting general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and same‐day surgical services

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (U.S. state or territory)
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, or Diploma)
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient or perioperative nursing experience
  • English language proficiency and EMR competency
