About the Role

The Business Development Senior Specialist - Global Litigation & Trial is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development team. This role will be responsible for working closely with the Litigation & Trial Business Development (BD) team to execute the strategies of the various Litigation & Trial practice groups, while d eveloping and maintaining in-depth knowledge of the firm’s market position, competitive landscape, client base, and bench of expertise in litigation. This role will be located in either our San Francisco, Silicon Valley, New York, Washington, D.C., or Chicago office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Staying abreast of developments and trends at the intersection of litigation and technology, and remaining informed of all major new clients and matters
  • Providing research, analysis, and reporting to support the identification and development of new clients and the enhancement of existing client relationships
  • Supporting the practice groups in routine analysis and reporting of practice and industry competition, market trends, internal financial information, business opportunities, and pitch activity in efforts to develop and implement internal and external strategies both globally and by region
  • Collaborating with lawyers, BD, and public relations teams on speaking opportunities, webinars, and other visibility initiatives
  • Disseminating relevant sector, market, and client trends internally
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Possess knowledge of the litigation landscape
  • Demonstrate the ability to execute multiple work streams and manage priorities effectively
  • Display the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent
  • A minimum of four (4) years of related subject matter experience and related analytical experience , including a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience working within litigation practice areas with a law firm
