The Job

This role plans and directs the transportation and planning team to meet customer needs and maintain distribution center efficiency. As a Transportation Manager, you'll be part of our team located in Jackson TN. You'll get to:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the transportation of goods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve service levels.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

  • Manage relationships with carriers, negotiate contracts, and monitor carrier performance.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the logistics department, including receiving, warehousing, and distribution activities.

  • Utilize data analytics to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive decision-making

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

The Person

  • 10+ years' experience in a fast-paced distribution center, with expertise in distribution strategies, technologies, and operations, including 5+ years of Leadership experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, Business, or Supply Chain.

  • Experience in automated distribution centers and high-volume order picking, wave planning, slotting strategies, freight optimization, and export shipping.

  • Experience with Red Prairie Discrete WMS or similar warehouse management systems.

  • Demonstrated history of effective leadership in Distribution/Logistics Operations and Transportation Management.

  • High energy, innovative mindset with a strong drive to achieve results and overcome challenges.

  • Ability to set and achieve both short-term and long-term goals through strategic planning and execution.

  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues quickly, with strong facilitation and negotiation skills.

The Salary range for this position is $86,000.00 - $138,500.00
