We are currently seeking a Machinist (Waterjet)for our Statham, GA facility. This position requires familiarity with CNC set up and running machines to produce high-quality machined parts for custom designed packaging machines. This is a first shift position that reportsto themachine shop supervisor. Job responsibilities include the following:

  • Read and interpret engineering prints, manufacturing manuals and both verbal and written instructions to plan machine set up, correct adjustments, and selection of tools. This includes speeds, feed rates, work holding methods, and all operational sequencing.
  • Produce high quality machined parts.
  • Strictly follow all job safety requirements and procedures which include machine guarding, forklift truck and hoist operation and housekeeping requirements.
  • Identify and choose the proper material from raw material inventory for each job order. May be required to cut raw material from larger piece of necessary raw material. Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy. Responsible to keep all material labeled and stored with PO date (shelf life) visible.
  • Clean, debur, stamp, label, and bag all necessary parts after machining operation to meet required specifications and tolerances.
  • Measure and inspect parts for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Overtime and weekend work are sometimes required.
  • Pump rebuilds, bed changes, and other maintenance tasks to keep the machine in good operational condition.
  • Other tasks assigned by supervisor or manager.

Who we are looking for?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to Operate CNC machinery.
  • Experience in working with metal, rubber, and plastics, use of calipers, micrometers and other tools used to check parts against drawings.
  • Familiarity with operating drill press and saws
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to stay organized an insure that the work area is clean, safe and orderly.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and well as be punctual and dependable.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license to occasionally pick up and deliver parts.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to perform basic math including working with and converting between fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to do the essential physical requirements include but not limitedto bending, stooping, reaching and lifting.
