Position Summary:

The Facility Technician utilizes appropriate tools and equipment to assist in the installation and maintenance of facilities, which may include heating, ventilating, air condition, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, locksmith, painting, preventive maintenance and electrical systems. The Facility Technician monitors building equipment and machines, makes needed repairs and performs general maintenance as scheduled or needed. Other job responsibilities may include repairing high-voltage electrical systems, structural repairs, appropriate record keeping, supervision and training.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain/Repair water piping systems, all plumbing fixtures and appurtenances following recognized procedures and
  • techniques of the plumbing trade as direct by immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain/repair electrically powered low-voltage systems and equipment following accepted procedures and techniques of the electrical trade as directed by immediate supervisor
  • Maintain/repair HVAC systems,/ equipment and perform preventive maintenance including: condenser, fan coil and AHU cleaning, filter/belt replacement
  • Respond to and complete applicable Facilities tickets/requests
  • Maintain equipment lists, maintenance schedules, and operations checklists/procedures as directed
  • Maintain records/reports of activities and maintenance/repairs performed as directed
  • Maintain inventory of assigned tools/equipment at onside parts
  • Perform any other general Facilities maintenance functions
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Attendance and Punctuality essential function of the position as it requires face to face interaction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including, Access, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; problem solving ability.
  • Basic knowledge of standard janitorial duties, cleaning techniques, products and equipment preferred.
  • Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as but not limited to safety data sheets (SDS), operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, etc.
  • Must be able to understand and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast pace work environment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with at least 70% comprehension.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) highly preferred.
  • Be able to work in a team oriented environment, maintain a positive attitude at all times, and be able to assist the team/department to complete goals.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with client, supervisor and coworkers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service oriented.

Job Requirements:

  • Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job site. 
  • Must be 18 years of age. 
  • High school diploma/ GED required OR equivalent work experience. 
  • Requires the ability to move, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
  • Extensive use of hands, reaching over and bending.
  • Reach above and below shoulder height, constant walking, standing in one place for long periods of time, bending, stooping, lifting, kneeling, etc.
  • Work in varying temperature environments.
