Job description

The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Industrial Maintenance Technician in Montgomeryville, PA! As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot, install, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on our industrial equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Preventive Maintenance on the fire protection system.
  • Rig & lift rolls - light machinery.
  • Assist in machine installation and assist in major equipment installation.
  • Rebuild simple equipment with direction.
  • Pipe fit on high-pressure lines.
  • Fabricate machine guards, minor machine components from prints and/or drawings.
  • Use lathe, milling machine, hydraulic press, gear & bearing puller, keyway broach to perform basic machine shop tasks.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment, identify faulty components and determine whether electrical or mechanical problems.
  • Perform "C" level preventative maintenance without supervision and perform simple audit of machines.
  • Perform minor building repairs.
  • Make up steel and hose fans, troubleshoot the hydraulic system with direction, replace hydraulic system components without direction, overhaul cylinders, and check/recharge accumulator.
  • Troubleshoot, install and or repair components, overhaul cylinders and solenoid control valves, and make-up air lines on pneumatic systems.
  • Overhaul simple pumps with direction, change pumps with direction, and perform basic troubleshooting on pumps.
  • Perform routine repairs on lift trucks for structural integrity.
  • Perform vertical and overhead welding on mild steel and weld simple castings.
  • Check and replace non-critical bearings without supervision, critical bearings with supervision.
  • Troubleshoot and change out (1:1) power trans-mission components (i.e. gears, belts, chains, sprockets, sheaves).
  • Maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on HVAC system.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of semiautomatic machine set-up and of all production machine start-up procedures.
  • Maintain and repair boiler room equipment.
  • Troubleshoot the steam system.
  • Troubleshoot the water system.
  • Rebuild steam joints and steam traps with direction.
  • Maintain and repair piping.
  • Check the safety system.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILIITIES:
  • Ability to read simple prints (wiring diagrams).
  • Ability to perform basic A/C motor troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical installations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic control circuits.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic technique (splicing, box installation, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions in written or verbal form including operating and maintenance instructions, work instructions, written policies and procedures, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence effectively and accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and employees of the company.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and not so practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Requires strong mathematical skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At-least 2-3 years of industrial maintenance/relevant experience.

SCHEDULE:
  • Must be available to work second shift hours Monday through Saturday.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Industrial Maintenance Certifications / Programs / Training.
