Position Details

Reports to: Distribution Construction Manager

Job Grade: 4 ($19.69 - $23.84)

Classification: Hourly (Non-exempt); Full Time ย 

Department: Distribution Construction

Schedule: M-Th 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.*ย 

Location: Delaware, OH; Olentangy Campus

*Must be able to respond to occasional call outs, serve on-call, or work off-shift as needed.

Summary of Responsibilities

This position provides skilled labor in assisting in the installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of water mains, hydrants, valves, meters, and other related infrastructure on the water distribution system.ย 

Essential Duties

Assist in the installation of mains and other pipes, water meters, valves, installing new water services/taps, reading meters, repair, and maintenance of hydrants.ย 

Repair meters and ruptured water lines as needed.

Assists with landscape restoration work.

Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and trucks.

Ensure that vehicles are stocked with tools and equipment.

Operate various types of equipment and vehicles including light-duty trucks and tractors with mowers.

Prepare reports, documents, and forms as required.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the job duties successfully.ย 

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Must have basic knowledge in the use of various hand tools, powered hand tools, and motorized equipment for general repair and maintenance work.ย 

Must be able and willing to perform manual labor in adverse weather conditions.ย 

Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
