As a Laboratory Technician in our Richmond, VA lab,you'llbe responsible forassistingmultiple projects where you will haveincreasinginteraction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatoryagenciesand clients. You will be part ofa strong teamof committed professionals.

The compensation range for this role is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, commensuratewith experience, skills, and geographic location.

Schedule: Monday - Friday

To thrive in this role,you'llbe comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of samples for analysis
  • Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
  • Sample preparation
  • Determining the volume of samples
  • Cleaning of laboratory glassware
  • Maintaining clean laboratory areas
  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Perform instrumental analysis of samples
  • Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
  • Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Onterris Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a lab
  • Understanding of physical and chemical principles underlying why procedures are specified the way they were for each method with which they work.

Preferred Skills:

  • Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer programs
  • Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to write correspondence and reports
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.
