Job description

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth of the company’s water filtration product portfolio across e-commerce, retail, distribution, and OEM channels. This role combines product management, product development, market intelligence, and digital commerce leadership to ensure products are competitively positioned, customer-focused, and optimized for online sales performance, particularly on Amazon.

The ideal candidate possesses deep experience in water filtration, consumer durable goods, or related industries and has a proven track record managing product lifecycles, developing new products, and growing Amazon and other e-commerce channels.


Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Management

  • Develop and execute product portfolio strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Manage the complete product lifecycle from concept through launch, growth, and end-of-life.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, market research, and customer insight studies to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Recommend pricing, positioning, packaging, and product differentiation strategies.
  • Evaluate portfolio profitability and recommend actions to improve margins and market share.
  • Create annual product roadmaps and new product introduction plans.


Product Development & Innovation

  • Lead cross-functional new product development projects from ideation to commercialization.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to define product requirements.
  • Translate customer and market needs into product specifications and business cases.
  • Coordinate product testing, validation, certification, and commercialization activities.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends in water treatment and filtration.
  • Manage product launch schedules and ensure readiness across all sales channels.


Amazon & E-Commerce Leadership

  • Own Amazon marketplace growth strategy, including revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Optimize product listings, A+ Content, Brand Store, SEO keywords, and conversion rates.
  • Manage Amazon advertising programs including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and promotional campaigns.
  • Analyze key performance indicators such as traffic, conversion rates, advertising ROI, Buy Box performance, and customer reviews.
  • Partner with sales and operations teams to maintain inventory health and forecast demand.
  • Identify opportunities for marketplace expansion, new product launches, and competitive differentiation.
  • Support growth across additional e-commerce platforms including company websites, Walmart Marketplace, Wayfair, and other digital channels.


Marketing & Sales Enablement

  • Develop product positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Create sales tools, product training materials, competitive comparisons, and launch communications.
  • Support key account presentations and customer meetings.
  • Partner with marketing teams to develop digital campaigns, promotional programs, and content strategies.
  • Monitor customer feedback and recommend product or marketing improvements.


Business Analysis & Reporting

  • Track product performance, sales trends, customer feedback, and profitability metrics.
  • Develop forecasts and business cases for product investments.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports for leadership.
  • Monitor industry, competitor, and channel developments to guide strategic decisions.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Product Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of product management, product marketing, or category management experience.
  • 5+ years of Amazon marketplace management experience.
  • Experience managing product development projects from concept to launch.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills.
  • Experience with Amazon Seller Central and/or Vendor Central.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.


Preferred

  • Experience in water filtration, water treatment, pool & spa, plumbing, appliance, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with NSF, WQA, EPA, or other water industry certifications and standards.
  • Experience with SAP, Power BI, Google Analytics, Helium 10, Jungle Scout, or similar tools.
  • Experience managing private-label, OEM, or branded product portfolios.
  • MBA or advanced business degree.
