Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operator to join our team! 

The successful candidate will be  responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the chilled water plants and systems. Also responsible for performance and record keeping of routine equipment maintenance, water chemistry tests and other tasks as assigned by Shift Coordinators and Operations Supervisor.

**This position is located at Citizens Energy Group at 350 S West Street, Indianapolis, IN 46225.

Minimum Salary: $60,900 (Grade 7)

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring of process control system and traveling to satellite facilities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient chiller plant operations (includes: electric and steam driven chillers, cooling towers, pumps, air compressors, water treatment, fire, security, electrical distribution, etc.).
  • Performance of routine preventative maintenance
  • General housekeeping duties throughout all facilities
  • Receiving of materials and supplies
  • Training/learning events to expand working knowledge of plant systems
  • Administer Lockout-Tagout system for all chilled water plants
  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Indiana driver's license
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • High level of communication skills both written and verbal
 Preferred Skills/Qualifications:                   
  • Experience in chiller, boiler or similar utility plant operation or maintenance 
  • Military or technical training in HVAC or related field
  • Experience and proficiency in fork truck operations
  • HAZWOPER training
