Job description

Title: Wash-Pack Specialist Dept: Wholesale Hours: 42.5 per week, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with some flexibility and seasonal changes Report to: Wash-Pack House Leader Wage: See below Our wash-pack operation will be in our brand new, grant-funded, well-designed and spacious wash house with additional walk-in coolers, excellent wash equipment and superior drainage. This position will wash and get ready for market the farm's abundant harvests.This position performs the varied tasks of the wash-pack house, which includes the washing, sorting, grading and cooling of all of our farm produce

Sanitation and quality standards are paramount and the successful applicant will need both an understanding of food safety rules and the ability to keep accurate daily records in our logs. In our daily work, we: Daily priorities include washing and trimming produce, such as lettuce and carrots, preparatory to packing, working in-house or on harvesting machine in field. May weigh packed produce and add or remove produce from container to obtain specified weight.

Harvest and final wash-pack of our flat-grown microgreens. Learn appropriate food safety and sanitation rules, and apply them. Ensure work areas, tools and boxes are kept clean, tidy, sanitary and well cared for.

Follow all established procedures and packing standards. Move quickly while supporting our very high quality standards and managing others in the same pursuit. Support other farm tasks when the position's requirements allow.
