Position/Rank Associate Division Chief, Clinical Pharmacology / Rank Dependent on Qualifications Department 00848 - Pediatric Administration City Salt Lake City, UT Track Tenure Track New Position to Begin Details
The University of Utah is seeking an exceptional mid- to senior-career clinical pharmacologist to join our faculty and serve in a leadership capacity within the Division of Clinical Pharmacology in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine. Individuals engaged in all types of clinical and translational pharmacology research are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have an established, independently funded research program (NIH R-level or equivalent), will contribute to strategic and academic leadership within the Division, and will play a central role in mentoring junior faculty and clinical pharmacology fellows in our ABCP-accredited fellowship program. The individual will be expected to collaborate with other faculty and share the University and School of Medicine's values. In addition to research activities, there is an expectation for academic work including education, administration, and/or advocacy.

The Division of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Utah is a research and education focused group with a mission to optimize drug therapy and outcomes in children and train the future generation of clinical pharmacologists. Current faculty are a mix of MD and PhD trained scientists. We have expertise in translating benchside pharmacology to practice, advanced pharmacometrics, and prospective clinical studies and trials. We are a collaborative group and have strong relationships throughout the University School of Medicine and College of Pharmacy where we collaborate on multiple NIH, FDA, and industry-funded studies. Our Utah Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship is accredited by the ABCP and supports a rigorous training program. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah is ranked 14th in the nation in extramural NIH funding.

Qualified candidates must have a PharmD, PharmD/PhD, PhD, MD/DO degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline; exceptional experience or training in Clinical Pharmacology; a strong program of innovative research and scholarship, with an outstanding publication record and established track record of independent, extramurally funded research at the NIH R-level (or equivalent). Candidates should demonstrate leadership within academic clinical pharmacology; documented success in mentoring clinical pharmacology fellows, graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and/or junior faculty; and well-developed communication, administrative, and collaborative skills. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering and furthering the culture of compassion, collaboration, innovation, accountability, acceptance, integrity, quality, and trust that is integral to our mission. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Tenure track at the academic rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Department/University offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package including a variety of medical and dental plans from which to choose, paid time off, and non-contributory retirement contributions equal to 20.2% of annual earnings.
