The American Security Cabinets division is a manufacturer of a large, diverse line of secure metal cabinetry for recycling purposes that enables the safe collection of a diverse range of items, including post-consumer materials.
About the role
The Warehouse Associate 1 will be responsible for receiving, distributing, and storing materials, supplies and finished products in designated secure locations either manually, using a hand truck or using a forklift. The Warehouse Associate 1 will prepare and maintain computer-based records of materials received and shipped, including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information. The Warehouse Associate will bale cardboard and recycle it following internal procedures. The Warehouse Associate will perform cycle counts with direction from Production Supervisors, Production Team Leads, or Production Manager.
Material Handling
  • Receives, distributes and stores materials, supplies and finished products in designated secure locations manually, using a hand truck or using a forklift.
  • Prepares and maintains computer-based records of materials received and shipped.
  • Completes daily production sheets or work tickets to record the number of units moved or managed.
  • Bales cardboard as needed. Performs cycle counts with direction from Production Supervisors, Production Team Leads, or Production Manager.

Forklift Maintenance
  • Performs daily forklift inspections before use each day to ensure safe operation.

Safety
  • Adheres to federal and state safety guidelines; wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the job being performed; maintains a clean and organized work area.

What we need from you
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and hand truck.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a variety of roles both independently and as part of a team with limited supervision.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable movement of entire body (e.g.,walking, bending, lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping).
  • Lift and carrying product up to 60 pounds).
  • Ability to type 30 WPM.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adhere to company attendance policy.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and utilize Microsoft Office suite and related internal computer programs.
