What is a warehouse trainee?

Warehouse trainees are entry-level employees who receive on-the-job training in warehouse operations. Their primary responsibilities include learning how to receive, store, pick, and ship goods efficiently and safely. They often assist experienced staff, operate basic equipment, and follow safety protocols. The trainee period helps them gain the skills and knowledge required for more advanced warehouse roles. This position is ideal for those looking to start a career in logistics or supply chain management.

What does a warehouse trainee do?

As a Warehouse Trainee, your initial responsibilities often include receiving and inspecting shipments, organizing inventory, and assisting with order fulfillment under supervision. You'll learn to use warehouse management systems and equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts, depending on company policy and safety training. The role offers hands-on experience in logistics, teamwork, and time management while working alongside experienced warehouse staff. Over time, you'll gain exposure to safety standards, inventory control processes, and may have opportunities to pursue certifications or move into more advanced roles.
