Description
INTRODUCTION: This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
SHIPPING ASSOCIATE: Performs all duties related to organizing, compiling and correctly packing/packaging the shipping of goods and materials. Performs work that involves conventional shipment of landing gear, small components and all related products with some problem solving. Verifies that all outgoing shipments are properly placed in the warehouse in pre-designated areas.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:
a) Process packing slips, timely, meeting required customer and company/department deadlines.
b) Schedule pick-ups with transportation companies via phone or internet.
c) Stages orders through out the workday for completion of shipment.
d) All 5S and required house-keeping duties including but not limited to; sweeping, cleaning, yard/area clean up and organization, keeping racks, bins and warehouse floor organized and in a safe manner.
e) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated, but which may be assigned and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
a) 1-2 years previous shipping and receiving experience.
b) Previous inspection experience with a critical eye for detail and minor problem solving skills.
c) Able to read and write legible with basic math skills as defined by company standards.
d) Basic computer knowledge and ability; SAP and Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
e) Ability to understand and follow JOST Basic Processes.
f) Must be able to cross train within the functions of the shipping and receiving processes.
g) Ability to use and operate a scale correctly.
h) Ability to obtain and keep current a forklift license certification.
i) Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of JOST company safety rules and procedures, quality process and procedures and JOST Basic Processes.
j) Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of JOST products, processes and customer requirements.
k) Capable of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
l) Excellent communication skills written and verbal.
m) Demonstrate a high level accuracy; display error-free work.
n) Highly dependable, motivated and self-driven with excellent attendance.
o) Ability to follow, understand and strictly abide by the Work Instructions. (WI)
p) Ability to learn and process transactions in SAP software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
a) Work is generally performed in a production plant warehouse setting.
b) While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
