The Warehouse Order Picker / Shipping Associate pulls, verifies, packages, stages, and loads customer orders for pickup and delivery. This role helps ensure every order is accurate, properly labeled, handled safely, and ready to ship on time while supporting an organized and efficient warehouse operation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations by providing positive customer experience.
  • Learn and understand the warehouse and yard layout, bin-location system, and the products Etna Supply stocks.
  • Pull materials and products from the warehouse and yard for customer pickup or shipment.
  • Verify orders for accuracy to prevent shipping and inventory errors.
  • Package and assemble orders safely and securely for shipment.
  • Clearly label products with the customer name and carton count.
  • Complete shipping documents and freight bills accurately and completely.
  • Stage completed orders in the proper pickup or shipping locations.
  • Load trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Use care when handling materials, products, and equipment.
  • Safely operate powered industrial equipment after completing required training and certification.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse, yard, and staging areas.
  • Assist Receiving, Warehouse, and Counter operations as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication, teamwork, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and changing situations.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, waterworks, warehouse, or distribution products is helpful but not required.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or
  • Six months of warehouse, shipping, order-picking, or related experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications & Licenses
  • Ability to pass the operator exam and safely operate powered industrial equipment.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, walk, stand, push, pull, carry, grasp, handle, bend, stoop, and use fingers.
  • Regularly required to climb, kneel, reach, sit, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must perform essential job functions safely and with consistent alertness.
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color vision.
  • Work is performed primarily indoors with occasional outdoor exposure to extreme weather conditions.
  • Noise levels are generally moderate.
  • Ability to pass a substance abuse screening.
