Job description

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Portland, OR. This position will be responsible for providing leadership and operational support to one or more Sales Distribution Centers (DCs) as assigned. The warehouse Supervisoris responsible for ensuring assigned DCs function efficiently and in compliance with company standards. In addition to overseeing warehouse operations, this role manages staff, inventory, and ensures optimal workflow across both locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations and staff at assigned Sales Distribution Centers, ensuring processes are efficient and compliant with safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate opening, closing, and security of assigned DCs.
  • Assign tasks and schedules to warehouse employees; monitor performance and provide coaching as needed.
  • Lead training for new team members and ongoing development for existing staff.
  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, storing, loading, and ensuring products are accounted for and maintained in excellent condition.
  • Check incoming trailers for accuracy and unload deliveries.
  • Verify the accuracy of outbound loads picked by Independent Operators and Distributors.
  • Maintain accurate daily inventory balances using warehouse management systems and handheld devices.
  • Manage returns, including return-to-stock, stale, and damaged products; ensure proper disposal and documentation.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization, including product rotation and restroom upkeep.
  • Cover open routes as directed, ensuring proper merchandising, product rotation, and plan-o-gram compliance in stores.
  • Deliver products to customers and bins as needed; ensure authorized products are merchandised correctly.
  • Lead and assist with month-end inventory counts; report discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GMPs, OSHA, FDA, HACCP, and safety protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with management and associates to uphold safety and food safety programs.
  • Report unsafe equipment, practices, food safety, and quality issues to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support company objectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in a food-related industry and/or DSD environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a warehouse or distribution setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as D365 highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail abilities for inventory management and record keeping.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Ability to make independent decisions regarding inventory, staffing, and operational needs, especially during high volume or promotional periods.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to obtain DOT medical card if required.
  • Ability to operate route sales delivery step vans or box trucks; forklift certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to travel between DC locations if needed.
  • Driving a company vehicle, a van or a box (delivery) truck, is required.
  • Requires the ability to walk, sit, talk, bend, stand, twist, push, and pull frequently and for long periods. Bend and reach with hands and arms. Requires use of hands for simple grasping.
  • Daily lifting and/or ability to move up to up to 25 pounds frequently with or without assistance.
  • Salary: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00
