Job description

Job Summary:  

The Signal Group Warehouse Associate will work collaboratively with the Vice President of Operations, Warehouse Operations Lead, 3P, and the rest of the Warehouse team to ensure accurate and timely shipping and receiving of products to and from Signal Group’s warehouse. The Warehouse Associate will work proactively and efficiently to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The Warehouse Associate is also responsible for meeting department and company standards for productivity, product knowledge, resourcefulness, and adaptability.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders efficiently and accurately using close attention to detail to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. Assist all other warehouse staff with the same. 
  • Ensure accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation throughout the shipping process.
  • Maintain all inventory control processes, monitor inventory levels, and perform cycle counts as needed.
  • Process customer returns and work with the vendor to ensure that vendor returns are approved and credit memos are processed.
  • Accurately ship transfer orders to Amazon Fulfillment centers. 
  • Continuously maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, and workstations neat. Also maintain clean shipping supply areas as indicated to comply with procedures, rules, and regulations. 
  • Examine and inspect items for defects and damage. Work with Warehouse leadership team to determine and execute the handling of any defects and damages.
  • Ensure that defective products are tested prior to being sent back to the vendor.
  • Receive and put away incoming shipments in a timely and organized fashion.
  • Adhere to receiving procedures to meet the order fulfillment demands and maintain accuracy.
  • Ensure shipping supplies are at adequate levels. 
  • Utilize reporting tools and resources to assess shipping and inventory efficiencies.
  • Work with Warehouse leadership team to develop and maintain written systems.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
  • Other projects as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Strong competency in data analysis using NetSuite and RF Smart (preferred).
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenging circumstances, and the ability to find a solution in these circumstances.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to change in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be able to operate in a multi-task environment.
  • Experience with inventory and cycle counts.
  • Strong attention to detail.

 

Education and Experience:

High school or equivalent

One year of warehouse experience (preferred)

 

Certificates and/or Licenses:

Valid driver's license

Clean driving record with no history of accidents or traffic violations

Hazmat certification based on compliance guidelines (preferred)

Forklift (preferred)

 

Physical or Other Requirements:

  • A variety of standing and walking throughout the day 
  • Repeated twisting at the torso while lifting
  • Pushing and pulling inventory from shelves
  • Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds 
  • Climbing ladders
  • Use of pallet jacks throughout the day as needed
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and traverse the warehouse throughout the day
  • Saturday availability required

Physical location of the business

 

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, some Saturdays required.
