The Company
Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant.

The Position
Our Warehouse Managers assist the superintendents with the overall operations of the distribution center departments. They are responsible for a variety of operations, including delegating tasks, ensuring efficiency and safety, managing attendance and time-off requests, and conducting associate counseling and performance evaluations. The Managers often lead our shift meetings, ensuring that all updates and feedback obtained during meetings are communicated to their teams. These team members are always prepared to tackle other duties and assignments as provided.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Work experience in a warehouse environment required.
  • Previous supervisory role a plus but not required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Typically work up to 45 hours or more per week, as business requires.
  • Evenings and/or weekends will be frequent and or required.
  • Working holiday, usually on a rotating schedule.
  • Interactive position involves work in an office in front of a computer and working on the warehouse floor.
  • Associates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently exert or lift moderate amounts of weight.
  • Associates must frequently stand and walk for prolonged periods, as well as talk, hear, reach with the hands and arms, and crouch/kneel.
  • The work environment will routinely range from normal room temperature down to 36 degrees Fahrenheit.
