Job description

The ideal candidate will provide direct support, supervision, and coordination to the warehouse & moving crews to ensure the overall success of the operation. This position is based out of Milford, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Manage warehouse and moving crews by training, setting expectations, monitoring performance, providing feedback, development and progressive discipline
  • Manage and control condition and security of inventory including proper storage, handling, disposal, transfer, cleaning and repair
  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and inventory
  • Manage warehouse organization and special projects
  • Manage productivity and performance of each team member
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance and security of the warehouse
  • Ensure that safety standards are adhered to in all areas of the warehouse
  • Provide necessary training on basic furniture handling, furniture repair, installation procedures and safety (OSHA, DOT, and safety meetings)
  • Schedules jobs with sales and clients
  • Work with the Director of Operations to control labor, inventory, and supply costs
  • Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by following company policies and procedures; enforce adherence to requirements by reporting as appropriate; advising management on needed actions
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training as required
  • Provide consistent top-level customer service
  • Exemplify the Company values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Fleet management and DOT regulations experience a must
  • A minimum of 5 years' of experience managing a warehouse
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of personnel and clients
  • Must have a proven service oriented attitude
  • Must be organized and detailed
  • Ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word)
