The Warehouse Supervisor will report to the Warehouse & Distribution Manager and lead the afternoon/evening shift. Hours are approximately 3:00 pm - 12:15 am Monday through Friday.

Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, this position is responsible for on-time, complete, and correct shipments to all customers from the Ankeny distribution center. Assures timely material movement to and from packaging and processing areas. Directs workforce and utilizes equipment in the most cost-effective manner. Looks for continual process improvement while maintaining safety, sanitation, and GMP's.

  • Ensures employee safety at all times.

  • Maintains complete and on-time shipping objectives.

  • Ensures all employees are properly trained in accordance with job qualification and training program of the warehouse.

  • Conducts daily communication meeting with warehouse employees.

  • Inputs all data required for measuring warehouse throughput and performance in all key areas: loading, picking, tasking, prepack and pallet displays.

  • FIFO of finished warehouse production.

  • Proper shipments of finished product to customers.

  • Maintains truck demurrage at lowest level within established controls.

  • Maintains warehouse area at acceptable level of housekeeping.

  • Turns in maintenance and repair orders as needed and makes recommendations for budget.

  • Applies union contract and company policy provisions fairly and consistently.

  • Promotes safety and corrects unsafe practices or conditions and complies with OSHA standards in all operations.

  • Identify and communicate food safety issues; lead and influence food safety initiatives.

  • Has a critical role in assuring food safety and quality within the manufacturing environment by upholding food safety and regulatory policies and responsibilities.

    Responsible for following cGMP's

    Ensure all food safety and quality records are completed accurately andtimely.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or similar field

Three to five years of supervisory background in shipping and/or warehousing.
